OUR CHOIR
THE BOWLING WIVES ....were formed way back in 2012. We started small one Christmas just singing some Carols round the tree and it blossomed from there. The ladies loved the exhilaration of singing together and the camaraderie. Eventually we began to visit the elderly and bring some Christmas cheer. Our popularity grew and now we are booked every year in several residential homes around Thanet. These gigs are enjoyed enormously by the audience and the ladies. Not only are we doing our bit in the community, we are putting Broadstairs & St Peter’s on the map, thus raising our profile. We also do it in order to raise enough money to make costumes for our annual show, the takings of which all get ploughed back into club funds so it is a win win situation all round..

PROGRAMMES
Our first venture, none of them thought we could do it, including us, but we proved ‘em all wrong. The Pantomime in 2014 was a howling success, the following year we were a little more adventurous performing an Old Time Music Hall. We have been very lucky with our audiences and have managed to play to packed houses for every show...
We then staged ‘’The Show of Shows ‘’ featuring wonderful songs and sketches through the decades and finally the last show was our most challenging yet ‘’Stars of the Silver Screen’’, but our members threw themselves whole heartedly into the rehearsals and to say we had a good time would be an understatement. The reviews were amazing so watch this space for our 2020 show.

We plan to do a new show in 2020 called ‘Fing’s Ain’t Wot They Used T ‘ Be ‘
Rehearsals will hopefully begin after the Tournament.
TEA DANCES
In 2018 it was decided we would take a year out from the shows. Lovely as they were they are exhausting. The blood sweat and tears that go into them is amazing. The cast show such commitment and professionalism in the way they conduct themselves and get the job done. So in order to keep spirits and funds up we put on a tea dance every Thursday throughout the winter months. These proved extremely popular and filled those cold winter months with fun and laughter.
